    Pilot

JAV Imagery has been my favorite job to date as a pilot. Not only do you get the experience of flying a high performance multiengine plane single pilot, you are getting to travel around the United States in a way most people don’t. The owners of the company have been a pleasure to work for, and I am truly grateful for the experiences and opportunities they gave me. If you have the chance to work for JAV, I would highly recommend it. Thank you Josh, Stephanie and Kelly for everything.

Flying for JAV was the best first job I could have hoped for, both challenging and extremely rewarding. It’s a real pilot job, flying solo across the country, landing in new airports on an almost daily basis and learning to look after your airplane (mainly keeping up with the maintenance schedule). The whole team at JAV was always very supportive when I needed advice/guidance and you can always tell they know what they are talking about. Also, never felt pressure to fly in conditions that I wasn’t comfortable with. Overall, would do it again without any hesitation.

In 2017 I jumpstarted my aviation career with JAV Imagery. What an amazing experience it was. JAV is a family company and flying for JAV felt like I was flying with members of my own family. Being pilots themselves Stephanie and Josh went above and beyond to make sure I and our team were well taken care of and had everything we needed to be successful. Their fleet of aircraft are equally well taken care. My time with JAV was short (only one survey season) but memorable. I will carry that experience with me for the rest of my life.

Working at JAV is hands down one of the best ways to get started in aviation for a pilot. Not only did I get to travel the country and explore new towns, I gained valuable experience. Working here will build confidence in all types of airspace and ATC environments. Aside from the flight experience I gained valuable aircraft management experience. The skills learned while coordinating with FBOs and ATC will be useful throughout my aviation career. The owners genuinely care about their pilots and always take time to resolve issues. The planes are well maintained and issues are fixed immediately. Working here has not only helped me build time, but skills that I wouldn’t be able to gain at other jobs. I would recommend JAV to any pilot that has great stick and rudder skills, is a self starter, has the ability to work with other pilots, and a drive to constantly learn.

I had a great experience flying for JAV Imagery. The company was safety oriented and the aircraft were well maintained. As PIC of my assigned aircraft it was my responsibility to ensure the aircraft was airworthy and to coordinate maintenance services as needed.  I had the freedom of choosing my own hotel and rental car accommodations when assigned a project. The flying was great with some challenging gusty VMC days. I was able to build a lot of time in a short amount of time. Last but not least, I was paid on time & correctly.

My experience working for JAV was invaluable. I could not have asked for a more positive first commercial flying job. Stephanie and Josh treated me as a respected and essential part of their team from the beginning. Whether addressing maintenance issues, airport hangars and FBOs, weather-related work delays, I always had their complete trust and support making decisions as PIC. JAV Imagery holds their aircraft to the highest standards of safety and they work tirelessly to ensure that their pilots are only flying well-maintained aircraft. Stephanie and Josh strive to continuously improve their pilots’ working conditions. They listen to pilot’s needs and work together in finding solutions. They are constantly improving JAVs organizational structure with the pilot’s experience in mind. I would work for them again in a heartbeat.

Working with JAV Imagery was genuinely a lot of fun. It was a great way to see the country while building a foundation for a future as a professional pilot. JAV Imagery is also a family operated business owned by aviators; they understand the unique challenges pilots will encounter throughout their mission.

JAV was my first job flying, an alternative to becoming a CFI, so in a way I like to think of it as my big break. I have nothing but good things to say about Stephanie and Josh. They truly care about their employees and will find a way to help with any issues you have while deployed. I learned a ton in the time I spent with JAV and I would do it again in a heartbeat.
